During a conversation this afternoon:
But you can’t change your past – it is was it is. But more than anything, it’s a testimony of who you no longer are.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
How are we ever supposed to have a REAL testimony of how the Lord delievered us and set us free if we NEVER share where we came from. How are those struggling with those same things supposed feel any hope – if they don’t know that others have been there and got delievered from that very thing.
But I just think that’s a big problem we have in the church (and I’m guilty of this too). We allow Satan to hold shame over our heads, so we can’t share our testimony and people are left struggling with sexual sins – because no one ever wants to say – “Hey, that was me, I was once that person – but God….”!
Why is it that we look upon the drug addict and the alcoholic and the wife beater with pride when they share where the LORD brought them from… but there’s shame for people who struggle with sexual sins?
It’s all sin.
